Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) work with customers to design, build, and productionize data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform. You own architecture and design decisions, deliver end-to-end systems, and collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams to drive measurable business outcomes while ensuring scalable, secure deployments.

Job Function: Solutions Engineering & Sales Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and deliver production-grade data/AI solutions for customer engagements, including architecture design, reference architectures, and data ingestion/ML model integration.
•Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build, and deployment of big data and AI applications while coordinating with engagement managers to scope technical work.
•Bootstrap or implement customer projects to enable a clear understanding, evaluation, and adoption of Databricks solutions.
•Own architecture decisions to ensure security, scalability, and alignment with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
•Collaborate with the Databricks technical team, project managers, architects, and customer teams to ensure timely delivery and provide product/implementation feedback.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering
•Proficiency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript (and modern frameworks)
•Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one
•Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals
•Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments
