Job Summary

Join the Engineering team to standardize maintenance and reliability strategies across Smithfield plants. You’ll coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance, oversee reliability elements such as asset health and RCA, and train plant reliability personnel using KPI-focused development. Using CMMS/SAP, you’ll analyze reliability data, forecast equipment cost of ownership, and share best practices to reduce disruptions, improve equipment performance, and drive cost savings.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate and implement standardized maintenance and reliability strategies for equipment across plants, including preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and repair techniques.
•Train and coach plant reliability personnel on KPIs and adjust training programs to address skill gaps.
•Oversee reliability elements such as asset health, criticality analysis, RCA, and preventive maintenance; identify root causes of equipment failures.
•Use CMMS/SAP for reliability data analysis and to forecast equipment cost of ownership.
•Share best practices, root cause solutions, and process improvements to improve operational consistency and equipment performance.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 2+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry (preferred).
•Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
•Proficiency in SAP and CMMS (preferred).
•Ability to communicate technical ideas and concepts effectively.
