Lead substation project engineer responsible for high‑level technical assistance, planning, detailed electrical design, procurement support, construction coordination, and commissioning across multi‑site substation projects in the power and energy sector, with a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will lead design packages, mentor engineers, and collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver robust, reliable substations.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical leadership and project engineering support for substation builds, expansions, retrofits, and rehabilitation programs from inception through construction.
•Coordinate, review, and approve substation electrical design packages for small‑ to mid‑scale projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
•Analyze data related to site conditions, GIS data, equipment specifications, and standards to support design and procurement.
•Develop calculations and drawings (one‑line/three‑line diagrams, layouts, grounding, protective coordination) and oversee QA/QC across disciplines.
•Collaborate with owners, contractors, and internal teams, and support field visits to resolve constructability issues and address design questions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
•7 to 10 years of post‑education experience delivering substation engineering design deliverables for capital power transmission and distribution projects.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without current or future employer sponsorship.
•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
•Proficiency with electrical engineering principles, codes and standards for utility substation design and construction support.
