Job Summary

Own engineering execution by scaling the core platform and building AI-enabled products for the global recyclables marketplace. Harden finance/ops/commercial systems (inventory, reconciliation, ledgers, procurement/fulfillment, pricing data) while moving operations onto the platform and automating spreadsheets with agentic workflows. Lead and level up a small, shipping team as a player-coach, architecting and reviewing AI-generated systems to keep them correct, reliable, and cost-aware.

Key Responsibilities

•Scale and harden core platform systems where finance, operations, and commercial data intersect (inventory, reconciliation, ledgers, procurement/fulfillment, pricing data) while maintaining trustworthy data at higher volume.
•Move operations onto the platform by building internal tooling and automating workflows with agentic capabilities to remove human time and/or improve unit economics.
•Build customer-facing products and integrations that embed the platform into how suppliers and buyers operate, deciding between agentic flows vs embedded experiences.
•Architect, direct, and review AI-generated systems; establish practices to keep AI-written code correct, maintainable, and reliably deployable.
•Lead and level up a small engineering team as a player-coach, defining an engineering operating system (delivery cadence, review practices, reliability standards).

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 180,000 - 250,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Built systems spanning finance, operations, and commercial data (e.g., inventory, reconciliation, ledgers, procurement/fulfillment, pricing) and can explain scaling while keeping data trustworthy.
•Shipped AI and agent-powered systems in production; understands LLM/agent architecture, evals, latency, and cost trade-offs.
•Builds by orchestrating AI coding tools (architecting, prompting, reviewing, shipping AI-written code) and keeps AI-generated code correct and maintainable.
•Track record of building products that non-technical customers adopt, integrating into how customers already work and measuring effort/time saved.
•First or most senior engineering leader at a small company; ships working systems and operates hands-on (based in or willing to relocate to Salt Lake City).
