Job Summary

Support screening and technical due diligence of upstream oil and gas investment opportunities across the New Ventures and Business Development portfolio. Provide subsurface expertise across exploration, appraisal, development, and producing assets by integrating geological, geophysical, reservoir, and production data. Lead geological evaluations for acquisitions and farm-ins, perform volumetric estimates and risk/chance-of-success assessments, and translate uncertainties into clear inputs for investment committees.

Key Responsibilities

•Evaluate upstream oil and gas opportunities, including exploration acreage, appraisal assets, development projects, and producing fields.
•Conduct rapid technical screening for acquisitions, farm-ins, and licensing rounds; assess prospectivity, resource potential, and play concepts.
•Integrate multidisciplinary subsurface datasets and develop integrated subsurface models with geophysicists and reservoir engineers.
•Lead geological evaluation during technical due diligence, including data room reviews and assessment of seismic, well data, and subsurface models.
•Perform volumetric resource estimation and risk/chance-of-success assessments, and provide geological input for development planning and production performance.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 10 years of upstream oil and gas industry experience across exploration, appraisal, development, and producing assets.
•Experience in new ventures, asset evaluation, or technical due diligence is highly desirable.
•Strong ability to integrate geological, geophysical, reservoir, and production data to assess asset potential.
•Advanced capability in basin, play, and prospectivity analysis, including assessment of trap integrity and petroleum systems.
•Strong petrophysical and reservoir interpretation skills, including interpreting well logs and integrating core and well test information.
