Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain healthy operation of wastewater pretreatment equipment and the collection, treatment, and quality control systems for plant wastewater.
  • •Develop and maintain chemical/biological wastewater treatment strategy, including evaluating alternate chemical treatments, aeration strategies, and lagoon parameters for lowest cost.
  • •Ensure compliant, effective, and economical wastewater treatment, including active support of the facility’s Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).
  • •Oversee maintenance practices on equipment to ensure proper facility upkeep.
  • •Manage labor practices and labor relations for direct reports, including hiring, firing, and performance development; lead wastewater treatment budget and improvement projects.

Key Requirements

  • •Work with ladders and perform lifting while using hand and power tools, shop machines, and other equipment.
  • •Read and interpret documents and drawings; demonstrate basic knowledge of standard and metric measures.
  • •Perform plumbing and minor electrical repairs, plus equipment and pump repairs.
  • •Be able to work assigned days/shifts (including some weekends).
  • •Use considerable judgment when performing and planning tasks.
