Job Summary

Design, deploy, test, and maintain backup infrastructure supporting physical and virtual machines. Serve as the subject matter expert for backup environments, building solutions across SAN, NAS, tape, local disk, Fibre Channel, and iSCSI. Configure and provision Linux and Windows backups, monitor and troubleshoot failures, improve efficiency with scripts, ensure security and availability, and provide Tier 3 support. Maintain documentation and collaborate with vendors and developers.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, and support the organization’s backup infrastructure.
•Serve as the subject matter expert for all backup environments.
•Monitor backups, resolve issues, troubleshoot failures, address performance bottlenecks, and configure alerting.
•Install, configure, test, and maintain system management tools, SAN and tape infrastructure, and server plugins while keeping hardware, software, firmware, and patches current.
•Ensure high system availability by verifying data replication, failover copies, and redundant datasets.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 6 years of experience with NetBackup and IBM Spectrum Protect Suite (required).
•Ability to build and maintain backup solutions for physical and virtual machines across Linux and Windows.
•Experience configuring and provisioning backups for Linux and Windows servers.
•Ability to strengthen and maintain security throughout the backup environment.
•Proficiency with installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of system management tools, SAN and tape infrastructure, and server plugins.
