Key Responsibilities

  • •Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
  • •Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
  • •Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
  • •Maintain a professional demeanor throughout sessions and stay neutral on calls.
  • •Remain calm on calls that are emotional or stressful, including emergencies such as 911 calls.

Key Requirements

  • •Fluent in Fijian and English with strong cultural competency.
  • •Able to adapt to LanguageLine technology enhancements and remote work tools.
  • •At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Legally authorized to work in the United States with no visa sponsorship required now or in the future.
  • •Dedicated quiet home workspace and reliable high-speed internet (minimum 5 Mbps down, 3 Mbps up).
