Key Responsibilities

  • •Participate in setup and teardown of rigging, trussing, automation systems, and winch motor systems while directing local crews in loading/unloading and assembling/disassembling equipment.
  • •Repair and maintain automation equipment and hardware according to supervisors and Best Practice Safety Standards.
  • •Maintain safety and security of automation equipment at all times, including chain hoist motors, truss, ground support, winch systems, and fall protection systems.
  • •Follow cues to maintain production quality and adhere to Feld Entertainment Best Practice Guidelines and local regulations.
  • •Follow all safety and security procedures and continually seek to improve efficiency and safety within the automation/performance rigging department.
Travel: Extensive travel

Key Requirements

  • •Associate degree or higher in Technical Theatre and/or 2-4 years of experience with aerial automation fly systems in arena, movie, or theatre touring industries.
  • •Experience with automation drive racks, winches, power, Ethernet switches, and fixed/variable speed motors, including swapping motors and motor whips at height and on the ground.
  • •Knowledge and/or experience operating stationery and drum winch motors and automation systems.
  • •Knowledge of load limits and how/why to set them.
  • •Ability to tour year-round and work domestically and internationally, understanding theatrical terms and directions.
