Job Summary

Join the Careers Network Student Engagement Team to help students navigate employability support at Careers Corner and across campus. You’ll act as an ambassador, answer and guide students to digital resources, programme information, and work experience opportunities, and contribute to events and targeted activities for postgraduate and international students. The role supports student career-readiness through presentations, engagement, and maintaining digital records.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as a Careers Network ambassador and a source of student insight, developing knowledge of support, resources, and opportunities.
•Be a first point of contact at Careers Corner, helping students understand their needs and guide them to webpages, digital resources, and programme information.
•Keep digital records of students interacted with and queries raised, and contribute ideas for improving use of the space.
•Support campus events and activities by helping with setup and delivery of flagship events, welcoming guests, recording attendance, and facilitating Q&As.
•Contribute to targeted postgraduate and international activities, including delivering short presentations and supporting content/video/digital creation where applicable.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 14.27 hourly

•Be a current student at the University of Birmingham through the academic year 2026/27.
•Demonstrate interest in and understanding of careers and employability issues, and/or personal and professional development.
•Have excellent written and oral communication skills, able to adapt to different groups.
•Show strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm to engage other students.
•Be digitally literate and able to use MS Office / MS 365 programmes.
