Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles following CarMax Certified Quality Inspection and Retail Repair processes.
•Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and heating/air conditioning systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
•Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
•Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication during repairs.
•Manage repair orders and parts inventory, including reviewing/closing orders accurately and receiving shipments to maintain stocking levels.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 28.8 - 43.2 hourly

Key Requirements

•Where required by state/local law, maintain ASE certifications for Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Engine Performance, and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle.
•Perform advanced mechanical repairs across engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems, including brakes, steering, suspension, 4-wheel alignments, and HVAC service.
•Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately and review/close repair orders with correct labor, parts, and billing documentation.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and professional phone etiquette for customer consultations.
•Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays while adhering to uniform standards.
