Job Summary

Build the simulation layer of the Software Integration Environment (SIE) platform, federating independent simulators into a single deterministic simulated world. Design C++ services for time management, entity ownership, transport/protocol interoperability, and scenario authoring tooling. Location: Seattle
Workplace: Onsite
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and build C++ services that federate independent simulators into a single simulated world, including time management, entity registry/ownership, and state distribution.
  • •Own the wire layer—protocol encoding/decoding, multicast/unicast transport, and interoperability so simulators from different teams and vendors can communicate.
  • •Make simulation runs deterministic and reproducible, including time control, replay, and instrumentation to explain divergence.
  • •Build and generalize scenario and laydown authoring tooling, plus content/resource catalogs for saving, tagging, searching, and reusing environment and scenario definitions.
  • •Integrate with the rest of the platform (Go services, gRPC/protobuf APIs, and the team-owned web UI) and set technical direction via design docs, code review, and mentorship.

Pay and Benefits

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • •Deep, current production experience in modern C++ (C++17 or newer), including ownership, move semantics, templates, and the standard library.
  • •Experience building networked, concurrent, or real-time systems in C++ with multithreading, synchronization, and failure-mode handling.
  • •Strong systems fundamentals across memory allocation, cache effects, sockets (UDP/TCP), serialization, and Linux.
  • •Experience profiling and optimizing real systems with latency/throughput reasoning using numbers, plus end-to-end ownership of ambiguous, cross-cutting projects.
