Job Summary

Join a cloud-native infrastructure team building the systems that power all of ByteDance’s products. You’ll help operate and evolve ultra-large-scale Kubernetes clusters, design system architectures for performance and stability, and define Kubernetes SLOs. The role also focuses on building observability solutions (including data warehouses) to diagnose issues faster and optimize end-to-end latency and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and optimize large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
•Design and evolve system architectures for ultra-large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
•Continuously improve performance and stability of Kubernetes control systems, including scenarios involving big data and machine learning.
•Define and enhance Kubernetes SLOs by optimizing service level objectives and analyzing end-to-end latency.
•Develop and improve observability systems, including building observability data warehouses and using data-driven approaches to optimize cluster performance.

Key Requirements

•Final year or recent graduate with a background in software development or a related technical discipline (Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent).
•Experience developing or contributing to cloud-native open-source projects.
•Hands-on experience with containerized applications via internships, coursework, or personal projects.
•Familiarity with observability tools/frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing systems.
•Knowledge of big data or machine learning workflows in a Kubernetes environment.
