Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor, detect, confirm, and track traffic incidents, and log them in an advanced transportation management system.
  • •Coordinate and dispatch incident response crews safely and efficiently.
  • •Detect and report equipment failures impacting control room operations (e.g., central system, computers, CCTV cameras, digital message signs).
  • •Coordinate with local, regional, and statewide stakeholders by providing essential incident information and status updates.
  • •Distribute traveler information and assist with lane closures/diversion coordination and communications for incidents involving injury or signal malfunctions.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma plus 1+ years of prior experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator or related experience.

  • •Willingness and ability to work in a 24/7/365 operating environment with weekend, night, and holiday shifts.
  • •Knowledge of Nebraska’s Interstate and Arterial Road Network.
  • •Basic proficiency with computer and communication systems.
