Key Responsibilities

  • •Process and manage full-cycle payroll for multiple US-based entities, including off-cycle and ad hoc runs.
  • •Administer US employee benefits programs end-to-end, including enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA, QMCSO, and qualifying life events.
  • •Administer and track leaves of absence in compliance with FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and company policies.
  • •Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations, including ACA reporting and other filings.
  • •Identify process improvement opportunities and partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and People Operations to support compensation, benefits, and compliance alignment.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 70,000 - 90,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •3–5+ years of hands-on US payroll processing and benefits administration experience in a multi-state, multi-entity environment.
  • •Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations and benefits compliance (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, 401(k)).
  • •Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as ADP, Paylocity, Gusto, or Rippling (or similar).
  • •Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliation and reporting (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • •Ability to handle sensitive compensation and personal data with high discretion and integrity.
