Job Summary

Operate and support Gravure Press activities across press room tasks, roll stand operations, material handling, and make-ready duties. Receive and prepare product for printing, ensure correct loading and quality by reviewing jobs for accuracy and errors, and respond to downtime needs. Perform press area cleaning and safety-compliant handling of hazardous materials, including doctor blade setup/breakdown and forklift-based material movement when applicable.

Key Responsibilities

•Receive product for the press, stack and place on pallets, apply printing pallet labels (via Pecas), and set up jobs using information from job dockets and set sheets.
•Ensure correct loading and job quality by reviewing for accuracy and errors, informing operators of problems, and pulling/handling product samples for quality auditors.
•Perform downtime duties including webbing the press, assisting operators when the press is down, and cleaning the press area (mopping, trash emptying, solvent/ink container upkeep).
•Carry out make-ready and doctor blade tasks: purge product from relevant equipment, assist with impression roller/stacker changeovers, set up/break down doctor blades, and dispose of used blades safely.
•If applicable, operate as a roll stand operator and/or forklift driver for material handling: prepare/mount rolls, maintain varnish viscosity, load/unload pallets, record/weight recyclables, and complete daily lift inspection paperwork.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma (or GED) and 1–3 years of related production experience and/or training (or equivalent education and experience).
•Very good mechanical and physical ability.
•Lift truck operators must have and maintain safety training for operation of all company equipment.
•Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching).
•Ability to rotate shifts and be available to work overtime (in excess of 8 hours/day and/or 40 hours/week when necessary).
