Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver advanced Navigation and Maritime Warfare instruction across classroom and bridge simulation environments.
  • •Mentor and assess junior warfare officers throughout their training.
  • •Contribute to course development and continuous improvement, including maintaining Navy courseware and training capability.
  • •Maintain contemporary knowledge of Navy tactics, techniques and procedures.
  • •Collaborate with Navy and Serco stakeholders to maintain high training standards and participate in rostered training activities as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience as a Principal Warfare Officer or Navigating Officer aboard a Frigate or Destroyer (or Commonwealth equivalent).
  • •Completion of the Principal Warfare Officer Course, Surface Combatant Navigation Course or equivalent Commonwealth qualification.
  • •Approximately 12 months’ experience in one of these operational appointments within the last five years.
  • •Strong communication and mentoring skills.
  • •Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
