Job Summary

Ensure a safe, compliant work environment at a U.S. Army contractor site supporting equipment turn-in, retrograde, and property disposal operations. Supervise safety programs, implement the site Safety Plan in line with OSHA and Army requirements, and conduct inspections and JHAs. Lead incident investigations and maintain OSHA reporting documentation, track safety KPIs, and support government inspections. Enforce hazard controls (including HAZMAT) and deliver safety orientations, PPE, forklift, and LOTO training.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses, and develop accident-prevention and loss-control systems.
•Implement and enforce the site-specific Safety Plan per OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and Army regulations; conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards during equipment turn-in.
•Ensure safe handling and storage of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) in compliance with EPA and Army guidelines.
•Conduct safety orientations and recurring training, including PPE usage, forklift and equipment operation, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and incident reporting; maintain safety training records and certifications.
•Lead investigations of accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; maintain incident logs and OSHA reporting documentation; perform safety audits and job hazard analyses and track safety KPIs.

Travel: Medium travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 64,526 - 109,710 annually

Key Requirements

•3+ years of safety experience on government, military, or industrial logistics sites.
•Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, EM 385-1-1, and DA PAM 385-10, plus Army site safety practices.
•Experience supporting military logistics, equipment turn-in, retrograde, or base closure operations (highly preferred).
•Excellent communication, documentation, and conflict-resolution skills.
•Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC), and meet background check and drug testing requirements.
