You will own design decisions, mentor engineers, collaborate with Starship teams, and drive testing, validation, and qualification to enable rapid development and mission milestones.

Key Responsibilities

•Extreme ownership of avionics engineers to enable rapid progress of design, integration, test, and launch activities.
•Drive conceptual design, architecture trades, and first order sizing.
•Develop design requirements where definition is lacking and optimize development speed, mass, and cost.
•Perform in-depth first principles analysis, FEA, and ensure design for manufacturing for production handoff.
•Design and execute development, acceptance, and qualification testing and drive the timeline from conception to launch.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, science, or math discipline.
•3+ years of professional experience designing mechanical components or assemblies.
•1+ years of experience leading teams, either formally or as part of a team project.
•Solid understanding and application of GD&T, and proficiency with hand calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and computer-aided designs (CAD).
•This position is based in Starbase, TX and requires being onsite; must be able to work extended hours and weekends to support critical milestones.
