Job Summary

Lead logistics modeling efforts that optimize how vehicles move across CarMax’s nationwide network. You will build and guide a team of 4–7 data scientists to develop planning strategies and AI-enabled optimization models, translating mathematical approaches into software that delivers optimal plans in seconds. •Develop optimal logistics planning strategies aligned to short- and long-term business objectives.
•Build and lead a highly engaged team of 4–7 data scientists, setting goals and developing members.
•Lead development of AI systems that autonomously plan moves in an optimal way.
•Create sophisticated planning models using mathematics, statistics, and technology, and build software to compute plans and deliver them in seconds.
•Lead cross-functional efforts with IT and the field to implement new models, and measure business impact of planning changes through experimentation.

Salary: USD 138,500 - 221,600 annually

Key Requirements

•Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Math, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering); Master’s/Ph.D. is a plus.
•4+ years’ experience in strategy, analytics and/or data science.
•Strong mathematical, modeling, and reasoning skills to build complex planning models.
•Proven ability to deliver business value by solving complex problems with deep analytic skills.
•Computer programming skills to translate models into AI, plus leadership skills managing analytical projects and people.
