Job Summary

Design electrical engineering work for renewable and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across utility-scale and distributed projects, supporting project schedules, budgets, specifications, calculations, and construction drawings. Model PV and BESS energy production, size electrical components, develop interconnection requirements, and support full project lifecycle from feasibility through commissioning. Key Responsibilities

•Lead electrical engineering design work on assigned renewable/BESS projects under guidance of senior staff.
•Support Project Engineer/Project Manager with developing electrical engineering design schedules and budgets.
•Perform solar PV and BESS design (array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections) for rooftop/carport/ground mount.
•Create engineering calculations and construction drawing development (one-lines, network diagrams), including specifications and equipment needs.
•Support projects through the full lifecycle from feasibility through detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•BA/BS in Electrical Engineering (or engineering-related) plus 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience.
•Demonstrated experience designing and integrating utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems.
•Current professional engineering license (PE) with ability to attain additional states by comity.
•Proficiency with industry software such as Homer, NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope.
•Strong familiarity with the NEC and related codes/standards (e.g., IBC, NFPA 855), plus utility practices (e.g., NESC, IEEE, PIP).
