Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the mobile platform end to end, including assessing the current app, setting architecture, planning migration, shipping an MVP, and scaling the rebuild into a platform.
  • •Ensure the app works reliably in real-world conditions with patchy connectivity and low-spec devices, using offline caching to prevent missed clock-ins/paychecks.
  • •Build and maintain native-only capabilities such as push notifications, receipt/inventory scanning via camera, and geolocation-verified clock-in with dependable behavior under weak signal.
  • •Make and defend product and UX calls independently, managing trade-offs when deadlines force decisions on what ships versus what gets cut.
  • •Set up a design system and enable AI-assisted parallel development through a modular React Native codebase and an agent-friendly architecture.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep React Native experience, with production shipping in TypeScript and comfort running the mobile codebase end to end.
  • •Experience building native-only features such as push notifications, camera access, and geolocation-verified flows.
  • •Comfort extending backend services (FastAPI) and collaborating across a full stack, including familiarity with the React web codebase.
  • •Proven reliability and scale experience with real usage, careful API/webhook/performance practices, and dependable systems.
  • •Strong product and UX ownership: you can independently make and defend UX/product decisions, especially when a dedicated designer isn’t available.
