Job Summary

Manage and optimize power trading in the PJM Northeast market across day-ahead and next-day/prompt-month horizons. Develop profitable short-horizon trading positions, run physical power scheduling and congestion/asset optimization, and maintain key price curves. Partner with risk, operations, energy analytics, and finance to mitigate risk, comply with risk limits, and maximize profit. Build relationships with third parties and support market research impacting supply and demand.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage wholesale and retail supply management activities in the PJM power market.
•Develop and execute profitable trading positions in Northeast power markets, typically within a 1–3-month period.
•Manage daily and prompt-month physical power positions using REP marketing and generation offtake agreements.
•Execute bilateral purchases/sales, ISO bidding and scheduling, congestion management, and asset optimization.
•Monitor and comply with corporate risk management policies, including risk limits and mark-to-market reporting; collaborate with teams to refine strategies.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 120,000 - 175,000

Key Requirements

•3+ years of energy trading experience, specifically PJM.
•Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
•Strong understanding of power markets and electricity pricing, including congestion drivers.
•Expertise in day-ahead, real-time, and forward power market dynamics.
•Proficiency with trading platforms and modeling tools (e.g., Dayzer), plus strong analytical skills with Python/SQL and Excel/Access/PowerPoint as a plus.
