Job Summary

Own critical parts of the Supply & Demand platform end-to-end, from validating commodity blending rules to running reliable production releases. Tackle incidents and bugs across data pipelines, databases, and distribution APIs, turning failures into runbooks and prevention. Improve a Prophet-based anomaly detection/data-quality gate, evolve the S&D data model and shared ETL framework, and build distribution APIs consumed by internal webapp and external clients.
Location: Budapest
Workplace: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own a commodity balance end-to-end, taking blending rules through computation, validation, and a reliable production release on the Airflow pipeline, including on-call afterward.
  • •Lead resolution of critical bugs and incidents across pipelines, databases, and distribution APIs; create runbook entries and prevention actions.
  • •Extend and harden a Prophet-based anomaly detection/data-quality gate to catch bad numbers before publication and reduce false positives/time-to-detect.
  • •Generalise the Supply & Demand data model and shared ETL framework so adding a commodity is an extension rather than a fork.
  • •Build and evolve data-distribution APIs (Oil and Grains TypeScript services) consumed by the webapp and external clients.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years of experience as a software engineer delivering production systems.
  • •Own a non-trivial feature or service end-to-end in production (design, ship, monitor, and fix).
  • •Strong Python for data-heavy work (pandas/polars, SQLAlchemy or equivalent ORM) and experience with relational databases and schema evolution.
  • •Comfortable debugging and operating production data pipelines, including on-call/first-responder duty for systems you built.
  • •Shape half-defined problems into delivered solutions without waiting for a predefined route.
