Deliver heavy equipment safely and on time from a rental facility, using real-time access to fleet locations, work orders, and delivery details. Operate the vehicle per transportation laws, maneuver trucks and trailers for loading/unloading, assist with loading, and handle required shipping paperwork. Support truck upkeep with routine checks and report maintenance issues, while maintaining safety and professionalism at delivery points.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate vehicles according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
•Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
•Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas; follow loading crew signals and assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment when warranted.
•Maintain signed invoices, bills of lading, and required paperwork; deliver documentation to the shipping office or appropriate staff when the route is complete.
•Facilitate routine truck service such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

•Must hold either a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license depending on state, appropriate for the weight of the vehicle operated.
•Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations.
•Must pass a DOT physical because trucks driven are over 10k lbs.
•Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
•Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
