Job Summary

Build and maintain TikTok’s real-time media distributed systems that power live streaming and RTC experiences. You’ll improve stability with resilient, decoupled designs and automated failover, optimize infrastructure costs through analysis and resource allocation, and raise quality by addressing playback and content lifecycle issues. Partner across teams to deliver integrated solutions and operational best practices, including deployment and disaster recovery runbooks.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and implement resilient, decoupled systems to improve reliability and reduce single points of failure.
•Implement automated recovery and failover mechanisms to maintain continuous service during incidents.
•Analyze infrastructure usage and spending to identify cost drivers and savings opportunities; optimize storage and compute efficiency.
•Identify and address issues impacting service quality and user experience, including playback performance and content lifecycle management.
•Partner with multiple teams and build operational best practices including deployment, disaster recovery, and change management procedures.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, C, C++, Java, or Python.
•Strong experience analyzing and optimizing complex systems with a focus on cost-effectiveness, stability, and quality.
•Solid understanding of live streaming technologies, CDN architectures, and multimedia processing.
•2 years hands-on experience working with large-scale, production-level infrastructure.
