Ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of trailers within the yard and at dock doors. Spot, move, and position empty and loaded trailers, verify dock status and authorization, and secure trailers for loading/unloading. Operate yard switcher tractors safely, perform daily mechanical and safety inspections, monitor pedestrian and equipment traffic, and exercise stop-work authority when conditions are unsafe.

Key Responsibilities

•Spot, move, and position empty and loaded trailers between docks and designated yard locations.
•Demonstrate safe backing skills, including blind-side and tight-space maneuvers, while minimizing risk to people, product, and infrastructure.
•Ensure trailers are properly aligned, secured, and dock-ready prior to loading/unloading.
•Confirm dock status and receive authorization before moving any trailer.
•Operate yard switcher tractors safely and perform daily inspections while reporting mechanical or safety concerns.
