Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise product managers and teams on legal matters, especially the impact of digital assets and emerging financial technologies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • •Help develop efficient ways of working to enable Monzo to scale safely and in accordance with law and regulation.
  • •Provide training and knowledge sharing to Monzonauts on legal and regulatory impacts in the specialist area.
  • •Proactively identify legal issues, evaluate relevant risks, and find effective solutions for unique and complex business activities.
  • •Manage relationships with external suppliers and law firms to improve cost management and deliver high-quality legal support.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience with recent experience of digital assets and emerging financial technologies.
  • •Experience advising on laws and regulations relevant to financial services, including the UK regulatory regime as it applies to digital assets and emerging payment technologies.
  • •Ability to assess risk and recommend solutions that balance commercial objectives and risk considerations.
  • •Proactive, able to broaden knowledge and anticipate challenges while understanding stakeholder objectives.
  • •Team-oriented approach to providing reliable legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
