Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the architecture of the core simulation platform for RL training, controls validation, and CI/CD integration testing.
  • •Design and drive build-out of cloud-native pipelines that parallelize and scale compute-heavy workloads.
  • •Define core abstractions and APIs to keep the platform extensible for new physics, sensor, and rendering capabilities.
  • •Set technical direction for performance, reliability, and scalability by identifying and resolving systemic bottlenecks.
  • •Define the platform roadmap and review major design proposals, partnering with Controls, AI Research, and Perception leadership to translate needs into architecture.

Key Requirements

  • •Excellent C++ and/or Python skills with a track record architecting large-scale systems.
  • •Experience architecting distributed, high-throughput or real-time software systems (e.g., robotics, gaming, simulation, high-frequency trading, or large-scale backend).
  • •Experience architecting workloads on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) using distributed computing frameworks such as Ray and Kubernetes.
  • •Strong software development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality standards.
  • •7+ years of software engineering experience with significant time in software architecture or a technical leadership role on complex, large-scale systems.
