Key Responsibilities

  • •Own DigitalOcean’s global event strategy across first-party, third-party, and field programs, including flagship, founder dinners, AI conferences, and more.
  • •Lead presence at priority third-party events to drive brand awareness, technical credibility, and pipeline.
  • •Build a differentiated event strategy mixing proven formats with new ideas, experimental activations, customer showcases, and guerrilla marketing.
  • •Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, Product, and Growth to align event investments with target accounts, pipeline tracking, and business goals.
  • •Build and scale the event operating model (processes, timelines, budgets, KPIs, and repeatable playbooks) and own the end-to-end event experience; hire, lead, and develop the event marketing team.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of B2B event marketing experience, ideally in cloud, AI, SaaS, or developer tools, with fluency marketing to founders and technical audiences.
  • •Experience producing first-party events (from intimate to 5k+ attendees) and managing third-party sponsorships (30k+ attendees).
  • •Experience creating a wide range of event formats including flagship conferences, workshops, hackathons, customer programs, and founder dinners.
  • •A creative, experimental mindset with the ability to test new formats and create standout, on-brand experiences.
  • •Deep GTM fluency connecting events to pipeline and sales follow-up, with hands-on experience using platforms like Salesforce and Marketo.
