Job Summary

Install and repair telematics systems and devices on vehicles and construction/heavy equipment at EquipmentShare locations and customer sites. Work Monday–Friday with possible on-call scheduling and overtime, handling everything from basic wiring/ignition/ground setups to more complex CAN network integrations. Diagnose and resolve installation problems, operate machinery for testing when needed, and maintain professionalism as an advocate for the EquipmentShare platform in the field.

Key Responsibilities

•Install and repair telematics systems and devices on vehicles and construction/heavy equipment and customer assets.
•Operate machinery during installation for testing and handle installation scenarios from basic power/ignition/ground to complex wiring harness work.
•Remove and replace ignition systems without custom keypad/controller, then integrate keypad communications with the telematics system.
•Identify and resolve installation problems by gathering and analyzing information and developing alternative solutions.
•Travel to client sites or EquipmentShare rental yards through the region for installation cases and occasionally work outside business hours/weekends.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent (trade school certificate preferred).
•Mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools; ability to own tools for the role.
•Experience in a related field (e.g., electrician, HVAC tech, car audio installer) and/or skills as a mobile electronics or automotive electronics technician.
•Ability to drive, maneuver in tight spaces, bend/squat, walk long distances, and lift more than 25 lb.
•Be able to travel within a 250 mile radius of the local branch for up to a week at a time and pass a background check and safety-sensitive drug screen (10 panel).
