Key Responsibilities

  • •Support development and ongoing prioritisation of the Compliance Monitoring Plan with a focus on Financial Crime topics.
  • •Independently scope, plan, and deliver risk-based monitoring reviews according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • •Assess control effectiveness, document findings and root causes, and agree proportionate remediation actions with stakeholders.
  • •Oversee progress and quality of reviews delivered by the Financial Crime Monitoring team, including first-level review of working papers and stakeholder communications.
  • •Manage three direct reports and monitor remediation plan progress, including escalation of overdue actions, control weaknesses, or material risks as appropriate.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree-level education (preferably Finance, Law, Accounting, Business, Economics) with relevant professional qualifications advantageous.
  • •Proven experience in Compliance Monitoring, Internal Audit, Risk Assurance, or comparable financial services assurance/testing roles.
  • •Strong knowledge of Financial Crime Compliance, including Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing controls and regulatory expectations.
  • •Experience independently managing monitoring/audit review lifecycle from scoping and testing through findings, reporting, and remediation follow-up.
  • •Previous people management or team leadership experience, including reviewing outputs and supporting professional development.
