Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical leadership in overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
•Support large programmes of work such as GGP projects and contribute to proposals with timelines, resources and budgets.
•Provide input throughout project implementation, statutory planning, and public consultation events.
•Lead design activities for overhead lines including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, and structural loading analyses; determine design criteria, sag-tension calculations, and conductor/insulator selection.
•Originate and check engineering deliverables such as complex designs, reports, proposals and drawing packages; perform internal quality checks on drawings and calculations.

Key Requirements

•Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g. IET)
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline (Electrical/Power engineering)
•Experience delivering projects for transmission system operators (e.g. National Grid, SSE, SPT)
•Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400 kV
•Proven client relationship management and business development skills
