Job Summary

Lead the global indirect tax function covering US sales and use, property, and telecommunications tax as well as VAT/GST. Own compliance, strategic planning, audit management, research, and tax exposure reduction across jurisdictions. Partner with IT and Finance to implement and manage tax engines and manage tax issues within ERP systems. Lead and mentor a team, manage advisors and tax authorities, and report to senior leadership and the board.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the global indirect tax function across US and international jurisdictions, including sales/use, property, telecommunications taxes, and VAT/GST.
•Drive compliance by ensuring indirect tax returns are prepared, reviewed, and filed timely.
•Manage telecom and indirect tax audits, liaise with tax authorities, and prepare research memos to support tax positions.
•Optimize tax processes and systems by implementing improvements and leveraging tax engines and ERP systems for tax calculations and filings.
•Lead and mentor indirect tax professionals, manage external advisors and auditors, and present compliance and strategy reports to senior leadership and the board.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; advanced degree (JD, MST, MBA) preferred.
•Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in indirect taxation.
•CPA, JD, or similar tax certification preferred.
•Strong technical expertise in tax accounting, compliance, and audit management.
•Advanced experience with tax engines and ERP systems (e.g., Vertex, ONESOURCE, SAP, PeopleSoft).
