Architect and lead the technical execution of identity security and agentic identity offerings, serving as “Customer Zero” on Okta’s internal IAM platform. Own architecture, internal deployment blueprints, and rollout for features from Alpha through Early Availability. Build defenses against session hijacking and AiTM-based threats, integrate Okta identity into orchestration layers and model providers, and open-source customer-facing tools while representing the work publicly.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the technical architecture and internal deployment blueprints for identity security offerings across workforce and developer platforms.
•Lead internal “Customer Zero” deployments of Okta IGA and PAM, blueprinting least-privilege workflows and ensuring compliance and security for sensitive entitlements.
•Test and deploy Alpha identity security features in Okta’s internal IAM environment, author rollout blueprints, and provide critical feedback to core engineering teams.
•Design layered anti-session-hijacking architecture using Okta DBSSO and Chrome DBSC to protect against token and cookie exfiltration.
•Lead open-source efforts for tools built by the Customer Zero team and share the playbook publicly through videos/podcasts and major events.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of IT/software development and technical architecture experience, including 3+ years focused on IAM/Security Architecture, with production experience securing non-human or machine-to-machine identities.
•Demonstrated experience deploying Identity Governance (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM), including just-in-time access, lifecycle management, infrastructure security, and access certification.
•Knowledge of core identity protocols including OAuth2/OIDC (token exchange), SAML, mTLS, JWT, and Model Context Protocol (MCP), plus understanding of identity threat vectors like AiTM phishing and session hijacking.
•Ability to author Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and confidently influence at VP/CTO level as a peer to product and product engineering.
•Elite verbal and written communication skills, able to translate complex technical architecture into business value for C-suite audiences and present publicly.
