Job Summary

Responsible for hanging live chickens in moving shackles while following company policies and NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines as well as local, state, and federal requirements. Maintain and use personal protective equipment at all times and perform tasks safely and consistently. Control a hydraulic bar for continuous product flow, complete assigned duties, and be able to work extended shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Hang live chickens in moving shackles by picking up chickens by their thighs and placing feed onto the moving shackles.
•Ensure feet are securely caught and maintain continuous flow of product by controlling the hydraulic bar with your leg.
•Comply with all company policies and NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and follow local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
•Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
•Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and perform all other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

•Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
•Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
•Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
•High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
•Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience and basic math skills (preferred).
