Job Summary

Deliver detailed land ownership information for major highway, rail, energy, and water infrastructure projects requiring UK government approvals. Conduct land referencing through land registry research, desktop analysis, and questionnaire/archival investigations, managing legal interests in databases and GIS. Liaise with landowners to negotiate access for surveys, support land rights acquisition and Heads of Terms documentation, and contribute to project delivery alongside UK Land teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with the India Land team (Bengaluru/Noida) and collaborate with UK colleagues to deliver high-quality land ownership information for UK infrastructure projects.
•Undertake land referencing activities including Land Registry/property registration research, desktop research, questionnaire analysis, and archival investigations, and manage results in databases and GIS.
•Identify legal land interests and rights, review affected landowners/rightsholders, and negotiate access for survey purposes.
•Support securing and acquiring land rights for large-scale development projects and prepare documentation for Heads of Terms negotiations.
•Manage/lead technical delivery and optimize project planning and execution for Geospatial Analytics and Data Engineering within time and budget constraints.

Key Requirements

•Successful track record delivering infrastructure development schemes, particularly in electricity, road, gas, rail, and renewable energy sectors.
•Experience leading land referencing/land assembly delivery, including managing land consultants or allied professionals.
•Strong understanding of the land and property industry, including negotiation and statutory land acquisition mechanisms (e.g., CPO, DCO, TWAO, Hybrid Bill).
•Ability to read and interpret technical maps and land ownership plans with strong spatial awareness.
•Postgraduate qualification in Geography/Remote sensing/Planning (or relevant subject) with more than 15 years’ technical experience, preferably in UK/Australia/similar region.
