Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee delivery of maintenance, compliance, and estate management activities across Defence sites, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient work to technical standards.
  • •Provide expert technical advice to colleagues, customers, and stakeholders, including compliance with JSP 375, asbestos, and legionella requirements.
  • •Manage supply chain performance and review risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • •Oversee operational performance, budgets, and commercial outcomes while maintaining accurate records and completing statutory documentation in Maximo.
  • •Lead, coach, and develop the team to promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement, supporting MOD carbon reduction ambitions where applicable.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience managing maintenance or estate operations in construction, facilities management, or property maintenance, with strong knowledge of statutory compliance and safe systems of work.
  • •Confidence leading operational teams and managing contractors across multiple stakeholders while balancing budgets and delivering customer service.
  • •Hold an HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • •Management-level health and safety qualification such as SMSTS.
  • •Experience with JSP 375, MOD environments, Maximo, asbestos and legionella compliance (or transferable experience in similarly regulated environments).
