Job Summary

Senior Substation Electrical Engineer for the Hallowell, ME office, focusing on design and development of transmission and distribution substations, protection & control systems, and related electrical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

•Provide design and technical guidance for substation projects, including single line and three‑line diagrams, bus layouts, grounding, and protection & control design considerations
•Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, short‑circuit studies, and protective device coordination; create plans, specifications, and cost estimates
•Prepare technical reports, data visualizations, and presentations to convey findings and recommendations to engineers, clients, and management
•Coordinate with owners, other disciplines, sub‑consultants, and clients to ensure design integrity and regulatory compliance across multiple projects
•Mentor junior engineers and contribute to safety plans (HASPs) and project QA/QC activities

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
•5 to 7 years of post‑education experience on large capital projects involving electrical substations (physical substation design and/or protection & control)
•Experience producing/reviewing substation deliverables (general arrangement drawings, substation layouts, one‑line/three‑line diagrams, grounding and lightning protection, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, bill of materials)
•Proficient knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design/build processes, permitting, and regulatory compliance
•Experience with infrastructure planning/design/construction management and QA/QC practices
