Job Summary

Support HVAC Controls projects by preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals using design-build scope and plans/specifications. Create detailed estimates with sketches, scope definitions, exclusions, vendor/subcontractor quotes, and equipment take-offs. Lead pre-bid reviews with account managers, identify risks and cost-saving opportunities, and help manage cost variations through validation and post-mortems. Work onsite most days with flexibility on Fridays.

•Prepare cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities to support project pricing.
•Develop detailed scope and create cost estimates from account manager design-build scope or plans/specifications for competitive bidding.
•Produce detailed estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, and vendor/subcontractor quotes.
•Perform equipment take-off and pricing to ensure accuracy of quantities, sizes, configurations, voltage, and options.
•Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks, conduct pre-bid meetings with account managers, and support cost variation control through pre-bid validation and post-mortems.

Key Requirements

•Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 3–5 years estimating, engineering, or construction management experience, or 5–7 years controls field experience (or equivalent).
•Proven experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls, and HVAC Systems.
•Working knowledge of construction facets including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
•Strong financial and business acumen with a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
•Ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
