Key Responsibilities

  • •Assess mothers and infants to identify breastfeeding and lactation concerns.
  • •Provide one-on-one breastfeeding consultations and practical support, including positioning, latching, and breastfeeding techniques.
  • •Educate mothers and families on breastfeeding, milk expression, storage, and safe infant feeding practices.
  • •Support mothers with lactation challenges such as low milk supply, engorgement, sore or cracked nipples, and ineffective latch; guide breast pumps and milk-expression techniques.
  • •Monitor feeding progress and infant weight gain, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed, and maintain accurate, confidential patient records.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, Nutrition, or a related healthcare field.
  • •Knowledge of breastfeeding techniques, infant feeding, breast pumps, and milk expression/storage.
  • •Ability to assess breastfeeding challenges and develop individualized lactation care plans based on mother and infant needs.
