Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles following CarMax inspection and repair processes.
  • •Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and heating/air conditioning systems.
  • •Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
  • •Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
  • •Review and close repair orders accurately, including labor, parts, and billing documentation; manage parts inventory and shipments.

  • •Completion of New Associate Orientation Training—Operations and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
  • •Where required by State/Local law, maintain ASE certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Engine Performance (A8), and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2).
  • •Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
  • •Able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
