Job Summary

Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles while following CarMax’s Certified Quality Inspection and Retail Repair processes. Diagnose and repair brake, steering, suspension, electrical, engine performance, and heating/air conditioning systems, including 4-wheel alignments. Maintain shop cleanliness using 5S principles, manage repair orders and parts inventory, and communicate clearly with customers during repairs. Ensure compliance with CarMax EH&S requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles following CarMax inspection and repair processes.
•Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and heating/air conditioning systems.
•Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
•Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
•Review and close repair orders accurately, including labor, parts, and billing documentation; manage parts inventory and shipments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 40 - 60 hourly

Key Requirements

•Completion of New Associate Orientation Training—Operations and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
•Where required by State/Local law, maintain ASE certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Engine Performance (A8), and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2).
•Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
•Able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
•Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods; work nights, weekends, and holidays; exposure to noise and inclement weather; adhere to uniform standards.
