Job Summary

Own overall business management for the assigned Home Centre (soft goods) product category, driving sales, gross margin, and profitability through comprehensive category business plans. Lead annual merchandise planning, in-season management, and financial plan adherence across sales, markdowns, margin, and inventory. Oversee category design and quality decisions, vendor scouting and negotiations, and competitive research. Manage and develop the team by setting KRA’s, performance appraisals, and staffing deployment.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive sales and profitability for the assigned soft goods category through comprehensive category business plans.
•Develop annual merchandise plans and inputs to merchandising budget; analyze trends from historical sales and market research.
•Manage in-season execution across territories including stock balancing, markdown management, and stock vs sales performance.
•Oversee category design and quality decisions, including product introduction, assortment, shelf layout, and procurement quality standards.
•Manage vendors and lead people management by setting KRA’s, conducting performance appraisals, and ensuring team development and complaint resolution.

Key Requirements

•Post graduate or Graduate with 15+ years of relevant experience in the Home Retail / Fashion Apparel and textile industry.
•Strong fashion education background (advantage).
•Experience driving category sales, gross margins, and profitability through business planning and budget alignment.
•Experience with merchandise planning responsibilities including pricing, promotion, assortment, and in-season stock/markdown management.
•Experience managing vendors, including scouting, negotiation, and order follow-up to delivery SLAs, plus people management responsibilities.
