Key Responsibilities

  • •Own HV battery RESS safety requirements for all battery programs, including authoring, maintaining, and approving requirements in CAMEO and 3DX across PV, DV, and production phases.
  • •Lead system-level safety analyses (SFMEA, DFMEA alignment, HARA, hazard breakdowns from L0–L4) and ensure traceability to test evidence and field learnings.
  • •Drive regulatory and compliance readiness for global markets, including R100, FMVSS 305a, CE Marking, EURO NCAP, UL 2580, UN38.3, and emerging legislation.
  • •Define and review battery safety test plans, review test data, extract learnings, and rapidly cascade risks or concerns to DREs and leadership.
  • •Lead thermal runaway safety topics and coordinate safety issues across vehicle, pack, manufacturing, service, and validation teams; maintain safety dashboards and represent Lucid in standards committees.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • •6–10+ years of experience in HV battery systems, functional safety, or vehicle safety engineering.
  • •Hands-on experience with battery safety analyses including SFMEA, DFMEA, and HARA, plus requirements development.
  • •Working knowledge of global battery safety and vehicle regulations (R100, FMVSS, CE, NCAP, UN38.3).
  • •Experience with requirements/systems engineering tools such as CAMEO, DOORS, 3DX, FLOW, or JAMA, and ability to interpret test data.
