Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the full mechanical design lifecycle for rugged, mission-critical hardware from architecture assessment through design gap identification.
  • •Drive design evolution by translating operational feedback and evolving requirements into detailed mechanical designs.
  • •Own the CAD-to-prototype pipeline, coordinating fabrication and validating performance through rigorous benchtop testing.
  • •Ensure mechanical integration across complex subsystems and extreme operational environments, including shock, vibration, and environmental sealing.
  • •Serve as mechanical authority for quality by investigating/resolving issues, implementing permanent corrective actions, and improving DFM/DFA.

Key Requirements

  • •B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • •5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience with demonstrated design ownership in a team setting.
  • •Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, tolerance analysis, and materials selection using engineering first principles.
  • •Hands-on prototyping experience and comfort moving between CAD, machine shop, and test bench.
  • •Proficiency with CAD software and ability to produce engineering drawings/documentation, including experience managing a BOM and drawings in a PLM tool.
