Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and supervise character asset creation for show production, providing creative and technical guidance across modeling through final CFX.
  • •Define creative and technical approaches to ensure character appeal and performance capabilities align with vision and requirements.
  • •Drive character reviews and deliver actionable feedback to Modeling, Surfacing, Rigging, and CFX teams.
  • •Translate 2D character concepts into production-ready 3D space through close collaboration with directors, production designers, art directors, and VFX supervisors.
  • •Partner with technical supervisors and pipeline teams to optimize asset-creation tools and maintain standardized workflows while mentoring and supporting supervisors and artists.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 10 years of experience creating character assets for film, TV, or games, including 5–7 years in a leadership or supervisory role on large-scale animated features or VFX films.
  • •Deep knowledge of modeling, rigging, surfacing, and CFX workflows, including skeletal systems, skinning, and deformation principles for character animation.
  • •Production-level proficiency in Maya and ZBrush, plus texturing tools such as Substance, Mari, and Photoshop.
  • •Familiarity with Houdini, Katana, and RenderMan, and understanding of the 3D animation pipeline including USD and real-time workflows.
  • •Experience using project management and production tracking systems such as Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid), with strong leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
