Key Responsibilities

  • •Define architectural standards and design highly available, resilient federal platforms to achieve FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 authorizations.
  • •Translate NIST SP 800-53, DoD SRG, and FIPS requirements into scalable cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or dedicated enclaves.
  • •Own end-to-end compliance/security architecture across the platform lifecycle, closing technical and security requirement gaps.
  • •Conduct architecture/code reviews, drive Root-Cause Analyses (RCAs), and ensure delivery alignment with organizational goals and strategic federal platform vision.
  • •Serve as primary technical liaison to 3PAOs, sponsoring agencies, and Authorizing Officials (AOs), coaching and mentoring architects and engineering leaders.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years of experience in security architecture, cloud engineering, or systems design with 5+ years leading major federal compliance initiatives (FedRAMP Moderate/High and DoD IL5).
  • •Proven track record as a Principal Architect driving cross-organizational alignment, technical strategy, and multi-year roadmaps across engineering organizations.
  • •Deep mastery of NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37 RMF, FIPS 140-2/140-3, and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG).
  • •Hands-on experience designing and securing cloud architectures within AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government, or equivalent federal environments.
  • •Experience leading through 3PAO assessments, agency sponsorship, and FedRAMP PMO / DoD Authorizing Official authorization cycles; relevant certifications (preferred).
