Job Summary

Design and develop aerospace lighting system mechanical components and assemblies for military and commercial aircraft interiors. Work in a 3D modeling environment, troubleshoot complex engineering problems, and create/support technical and manufacturing documentation. Collaborate across integrated product/program teams, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, vendors, and customers to align scope with requirements and support FEA/thermal analyses and design-to-cost decisions.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead new or derivative aerospace lighting system mechanical designs of parts and assemblies in a 3D modeling environment.
•Develop and sustain products by partnering with supply chain and manufacturing on lifecycle and sustainability actions.
•Create and/or support technical and manufacturing documentation, working with integrated product/program teams under a program manager.
•Align product definition and scope with customer, military aerospace, and/or commercial aerospace requirements; collaborate internally and externally to ensure specification compliance.
•Participate in or lead special tasks such as FEA analyses and thermal analyses; help estimate effort hours and development strategies and support issue resolution.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 3 years of experience.

•Understanding of manufacturing methods and limitations (e.g., sheet metal fabrication, machining, casting, plastic molding).
