Job Summary

Design and build TikTok’s ByteRec recommendation infrastructure, including multi-modal content processing pipelines with retrieval, RAG, and sorting. Improve system availability, throughput, storage efficiency, and development velocity while collaborating with algorithm teams on video representation and large-scale vector retrieval. You’ll abstract and optimize multi-modal vector computing components to enhance inference performance, stability, scalability, and platform-wide integration.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and iterate the multi-modal content understanding pipeline, addressing service availability, throughput, and storage bottlenecks.
•Collaborate with the algorithm team on video repetition/similarity issues and advance video representation models and large-scale vector retrieval implementations.
•Abstract and enrich multi-modal vector computing components to optimize inference performance.
•Improve system stability, performance, scalability, and platform-wide integration across the infrastructure.
•Drive development efficiency for new features through iterative engineering improvements.

Key Requirements

•Final-year graduate with a background in software development, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
•Strong programming skills and basic computer knowledge; familiar with Python/C++ and able to demonstrate excellent design and coding practices.
•Ability to solve practical problems and willingness to explore new technologies with the team.
•Experience in recommendation, search, and advertising; familiarity with recall/ranking or RAG systems (preferred).
•Basic ML knowledge with familiarity in mainstream frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) or multi-agent frameworks; experience with high-performance computing or CUDA (preferred).
