Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of adult or child and youth behavioral (CYB) non-medical counseling services to service members and their families at military installations.
  • •Conduct assessments, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referral linkage, and follow-up as indicated.
  • •Deliver training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs, and support base/installation activities.
  • •Maintain accurate counselor activity reporting daily via smartphone or web application while preserving confidentiality and anonymity.
  • •Coordinate with installation and military POCs and comply with DoD protocol for duty to warn and restricted reporting, including supervision and critical-incident response.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree from an accredited program in a mental health related field or social work.
  • •Current independent licensure required for the position (e.g., LPC) meeting state/commonwealth/customer-specific requirements.
  • •Ability to prove US citizenship and be fluent in English.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
  • •With short notice, accept assignments of undefined periods, including weekends, and cover assignments ranging from a weekend to two weeks.
